Why it matters

  • Q3 2026 revenue: $12.9 billion (€11.4 billion), up 12% year over year (11% F/X neutral).
  • Operating margin: 34.6% in Q3 2026, up from 28.2% in Q3 2025, ahead of forecast due to expense timing.
  • Full-year 2026 guidance: $51.1 billion revenue, +13% year over year.
  • Full-year 2026 operating margin target: 31.5%.

The story

Netflix booked $12.9 billion (€11.4 billion) in third-quarter revenue, up 12 per cent year over year, or 11 per cent on a foreign-exchange-neutral basis. The figure landed in line with the company's own forecast, and management said it also expects to deliver on full-year 2026 guidance.

The stronger number sits in the margin line. Operating margin reached 34.6 per cent in Q3, up from 28.2 per cent in the same quarter of 2025. That is a 6.4-percentage-point improvement in twelve months. Netflix attributed the beat against its own forecast primarily to the timing of expenses rather than to any underlying change in the cost base.

What does this change for the full year?

Netflix raised nothing and cut nothing on the top line. It reiterated revenue guidance of $51.1 billion for full-year 2026, which represents 13 per cent growth over 2025. It also confirmed a full-year operating margin target of 31.5 per cent.

For context on scale: $51.1 billion across a year works out to roughly $4.3 billion of revenue per month. The Q3 margin of 34.6 per cent means the company kept just under 35 cents of every revenue dollar as operating profit in the quarter.

How should practitioners read this?

For telecom operators negotiating content and bundling deals with Netflix, the relevant signals are three:

  • Revenue growth is running at double digits, 12 per cent reported, 11 per cent currency-neutral, so the advertising and subscription engines continue to expand.
  • Margin expansion, 28.2 per cent to 34.6 per cent year over year, gives the company more headroom in partner economics, though the company itself credits expense timing for the beat.
  • Guidance discipline holds. Netflix said it "delivered" on its Q3 forecast and expects to do the same for the full year, which reduces the likelihood of strategic pivots before the year closes.

The gap between the quarterly margin, 34.6 per cent, and the full-year target, 31.5 per cent, implies softer profitability in the remaining quarter, consistent with the company's own framing that Q3 timing flattered the result.

Netflix has not revised its 2027 expectations in this release, and the company indicated further detail would follow in subsequent disclosures.
