The GSMA has confirmed that MWC Barcelona 2027 will run from 1 to 4 March 2027 at the Fira Gran Via venue, and that the show will add three dedicated areas covering automotive, health and aviation.

The new zones will host practical demonstrations and real-world use cases of intelligent connectivity, with participation from industry executives, technology suppliers and other companies tracking how those industries evolve. The move marks a deliberate widening of the congress beyond its core telecom base into adjacent verticals.

Organizers have also confirmed new exhibitors since their last announcement. AWS (Amazon Web Services), ElevenLabs and HP Inc. will join the show floor. Returning exhibitors including Agibot, KDDI, Nokia and Unitree will take additional exhibition space, a signal that larger footprints followed strong demand at previous editions.

The technology program will again center on artificial intelligence. Topics will range from agentic AI and digital sovereignty to quantum computing, alongside robotics and satellite connectivity delivered through non-terrestrial networks (NTN). Hall 6 will once again host the New Frontiers space, the congress's home for frontier technology showcases.

Alongside roughly sixty sessions in the main program, MWC 2027 will run several parallel events. 4YFN (4 Years From Now) will bring together the startup and emerging-company ecosystem. Talent Arena, focused on digital talent and the developer community, will run at the same time at the Fira de Barcelona site in Montjuïc.

Two further events round out the schedule. The Sports Tomorrow Congress will cover innovation, technology and science applied to sport. The GSMA Ministerial Programme will convene ministers, regulators and policymakers from multiple countries to debate digital and mobile policy, maintaining the congress's role as a regulatory forum as well as a commercial one.

The 2027 edition follows a 2026 event that generated an economic impact of €588 million for Barcelona and created more than 14,000 part-time jobs, according to figures cited by the organizer. That economic footprint underpins the show's continued expansion into new sectors.

With planning already underway and new exhibitors signing up more than a year ahead of the opening date, the GSMA is positioning MWC 2027 to extend the congress's reach well beyond its traditional telecom audience.
