Why it matters

  • Jet Excellence will equip its entire Cessna Citation X fleet with Gogo Galileo HDX, announced October 30, 2026.
  • Installations by Araina Aviation begin immediately following FAA grant of a Supplemental Type Certificate for Citation X.
  • Gogo Galileo runs on Eutelsat's OneWeb LEO satellite network for high-speed, low-latency global connectivity.
  • Jet Excellence is using Gogo's flexible financing to manage fleet-wide upgrade costs and accelerate rollout.
  • Galileo HDX uses an electronically steered antenna optimized from turboprops to larger business aircraft.

The story

By Daniel Okafor

Gogo has signed US charter operator Jet Excellence to equip its entire Cessna Citation X fleet with the Gogo Galileo HDX connectivity system, the vendor announced on October 30, 2026. The deal pairs the hardware installation with Gogo's flexible financing solution, which Jet Excellence is using to spread the cost of the fleet-wide upgrade and speed up access to the technology.

Installations are beginning immediately. Araina Aviation, an approved installation house, carries out the work. The rollout follows the Federal Aviation Administration's grant of a Supplemental Type Certificate for mounting Galileo HDX on the Citation X airframe — the regulatory step that cleared the path for the program.

That STC matters for practitioners. No STC, no installation, regardless of commercial appetite. With certification in hand, Jet Excellence can convert a signed agreement into flying hardware without waiting for further approvals.

What does the deal change for the operator?

Jet Excellence supplies aircraft capacity to many of the business aviation industry's leading fractional ownership, membership and charter providers. That wholesale position sets the incentive: equipping every Citation X with Galileo lets the operator offer a consistent connectivity product across more of its fleet, rather than a patchwork of equipped and unequipped airframes.

For an operator feeding fractional and membership programmes, consistency is a commercial asset. Passengers moving between aircraft receive the same service regardless of which tail they board.

"Reliable inflight connectivity has become a crucial part of the service our customers expect us to provide," said McQueen Campbell, CEO of Jet Excellence. "Gogo Galileo gives us the performance and global coverage needed to support passengers who want to remain productive and entertained throughout their flights. Gogo's financing solution also gives us a practical way to introduce that capability across our fleet on an accelerated schedule."

How the financing angle works

The financing structure is the second half of this story. Airframe upgrades on business jets carry meaningful capital cost, and fleet-wide retrofits concentrate that cost into a single budget cycle. Gogo's flexible financing lets Jet Excellence stage the outlay while accelerating installation timing — a trade vendors increasingly offer to close fleet deals rather than single tail orders.

"Jet Excellence operates in an environment where aircraft availability, operating economics and a consistent passenger experience are all critical," said Christopher Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Gogo. "Our role is not simply to provide connectivity, but to help customers choose, integrate and support the solution that's right for their operation. By combining Gogo Galileo with flexible financing, we're making it easier for operators to modernise their fleets and invest with confidence."

What sits behind Galileo?

Gogo Galileo runs on Eutelsat's OneWeb enterprise-grade low-earth-orbit satellite constellation, delivering high-speed, low-latency connectivity worldwide. Passengers and crew can run multiple devices simultaneously for video conferencing, streaming, email, communications and browsing — the multi-user workload that older air-to-ground and geostationary systems often struggle to sustain.

The Galileo HDX antenna is an electronically steered design. Gogo describes it as compact, lightweight, aerodynamic and low-power, capable of delivering reliable high speeds. The company positions Galileo as optimized across a wide aircraft span, from turboprops and light jets through to larger business aircraft.

Those performance claims come from the vendor, and operators will validate them in service. But the underlying architecture is a real differentiator: LEO constellations cut the latency penalty that makes video calls and live streaming impractical on legacy satellite links, which is precisely the use case business aviation passengers pay for.

What comes next

Installations by Araina Aviation are already under way, with the FAA STC in place and financing agreed. Watch the pace of the Citation X rollout as the indicator of whether Gogo's bundled hardware-plus-financing model shortens sales cycles across the broader business aviation retrofit market.
